Monroe author taking part in Literacy Orange event on Dec. 5
The Literacy Orange organization will hold a book fair on Dec. 5 at the Barnes & Noble bookstore at 1245 Route 300 (Union Avenue) in Newburgh, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
All proceeds go to Literacy Orange to help offer tutoring materials for the group’s volunteers.
Adria Goldman Gross of Monroe, who grew up in Port Jervis and is co-author of “Solved! Curing Your Medical Insurance Problems” will be signing books at the fair between noon and 1:30 p.m.
Goldman Gross, who has decades of experience in the field of medical billing and insurance claims, worked for two health insurance companies, as well as for a doctor, before she launched her own medical billing business, Medwise Billing.
While helping other people sort through the maze of medical billing after they or loved ones became patients, she moved into the area of medical billing advocacy. In 2012, she opened MedWise Insurance Advocacy, a division of MedWise Billing, based in Monroe.
Co-written with Douglas Winslow Cooper, “Solved!” is the U.S. edition of another of Goldman Gross’ books, “Multi-Payer Medicine Nightmare: Made in the USA,” which was hailed by consumer advocate Ralph Nader.
Both books are available online at Amazon and Barnes & Noble. Her website is www.adriagross.com and www.medicalinsuranceadvocacy.com
