So all too often people are having problems with 24 hours psych facilities, and they call me up for assistance involving medical bills.

The one thing you have to try and remember is before you ever go into one of these 24-hour facilities. You must get authorization from your health insurance carrier. You have to make sure that that the 24-hour facility is a network and your insurance company is going to cover you for your stay. Find out if you can in advance. How much your fee is going to be on a daily basis?

That’s normally how they charge and confirm with your insurance company whether or not they’re going to reimburse you for the services. Some of the insurance companies will only give you limited days. And then believe it or not is a pain, but you have to keep on calling them and asking for additional pre-authorization for future days.
