Have you ever been in a situation where your provider did not send the bill out to the insurance company on time? Insurance company usually demand that they receive the bills for services within 3, 4, 6, 9 or 12 months. So this client was directed and was billed over $75,000. When we discussed this with the insurance company, they informed us not to pay the bill. Since my client was not responsible, the provider has to write to the insurance company and ask for payment even though they never submitted the bill on time. The medical provider needs to have a good reason why they could not get the bill out on time. My client never had to pay that $75,000. And please keep this in mind. It’s a provider who’s after you to pay the bill. You’re not responsible to pay the bills if they never submitted to the insurance company.
