Does Your Health Care Bill Hurt Your Credit?

Healthcare bills won’t harm your credit as long as you don’t wait too long to settle them. Most of the time, you’re dealing directly with the medical provider, and they aren’t likely to report your payment activity—or lack thereof—to the credit bureaus. This means that while you owe the provider, your credit report will not reflect the debt. Currently, you have one year to pay your bills before it’s reported to the credit bureaus, and you might be served in court if you can’t resolve this. I always tell people, please come to me for help before the bill gets into collections. Thank you.
